Belgium To-Do List
**I loved Brugge and thought it was better than Brussels. I would recommend doing one day in Brussels, 1-2 days in Brugge and then a day tip to Ghent.
Brussels:
Things to do:
- Check out the Grand Place Market Square
- Manneken Pis – really underwhelming but funny to see because it’s one of the main attractions
Food / Drinks:
- Hang out at Delirium – they have over 2000 beers, so definitely try a few! FYI they don’t have food there so eat before you go
- Eat some waffles – if you’re paying more than 2 euros for a waffle you’re getting ripped off
- Eat a lot of chocolate
- La Rose de Damas – delicious Mediterranean pastries. They were so good I had a friend get me some when he went to visit
Accommodation: Meininger Hostel – really nice hostel, good location & not expensive
Brugge:
Things to do:
- Belfry Bell Tower – nice views at the top!
- Chocolate Museum – I didn’t get to go but I really wanted to and heard it was cool
- Do the free walking tour and check out the city
- Boat canal tour
- Smallest bridge
Food:
- Try the French fries in the main square! I was told that if you’re facing the 2 French fry carts, the one on the right is better
Accommodation: Lybeer Travelers’ Hostel – they were so nice and very helpful for planning what to do
Ghent: I would stop here just for the day on the way to Brugge or on the way back to Brussels. Check out the graffiti ally, the Gravensteen Castle, get a cupcake at Julie’s House and try a cuberdon!
